AUGUSTA, GA (April 6, 2022) – A $1 million donation from Augusta National Golf Club and a donation from Jim Hudson Automotive Group will both be used for the development of an automotive and innovation service training center in the Laney Walker neighborhood.
Congratulations to Augusta Technical College, along with our foundational investment partners, the Augusta National Golf Club and Jim Hudson Lexus,” said Augusta Technical College Foundation President Randy Hatcher.
The new facility will quadruple the college’s automotive training footprint. Once operational, the center will offer 16 certification programs to approximately 1,270 students annually.
“Together, we will be creating a better life for the students who learn here, and a better workforce for the employers who need these in-demand automotive skills,” said Hatcher, also the president of MAU Workforce Solutions. “At the same time, we are reinvesting in a vital geographic part of our community that needs all of our help. We invite others to come along and be a part of this exciting, transformational story.”
