September 17, 2018: a day that the Chesterfield County community in Virginia will never forget.  That afternoon, two tornadoes caused by the remnants of hurricane Florence, struck the small community of the Virginian County leaving nearly 10,000 people without power.  It was the first time the community experienced a tornado of that nature since April, 1990.

People were astonished, including the Firefighters who thanked the Fire and EMS training they had because it helped save many lives before the storm hit.  When interviewed, Fire Lieutenant Jason Elmore said that the main resource they had to deal with such catastrophe was the team itself: “I think the teamwork aspect of things was a pro; getting all of those first responders together,” he said.
